PETALING JAYA, February 10 — Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad has announced a significant reduction in waiting times at government clinics, with treatment wait times now cut from three hours to just 30 minutes. This achievement is attributed to the Ministry of Health’s ongoing digital transformation efforts within the public health sector.
The digital initiative, which began with 107 clinics in 2007, has expanded to 159 clinics by February 2025, marking a 48.6 percent increase. Dzulkefly expressed his commitment to continuing this transformation, particularly focusing on the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system and improving health sector spending.
He emphasized that 2025 would be a pivotal year for delivering the full implementation of these digital initiatives, aimed at streamlining services and ensuring high-quality healthcare for all Malaysians.
