KUALA LUMPUR, February 10 — In his royal address at the opening of the First Meeting of the Fourth Session of the 15th Parliament, His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim of Malaysia urged the public to remain vigilant against cybercrime, particularly online financial scams and identity theft.
The King also expressed concern about the growing culture of slander and incitement on social media, calling on the government to take proactive measures to curb such harmful behaviors and ensure the dissemination of accurate information.
Sultan Ibrahim further emphasized the need for the government to accelerate digital transformation, strengthening infrastructure and cybersecurity to attract foreign investments in high-tech industries.
He called for an upgrade of government services, promoting transparency and efficiency through digital technology to combat corruption, reduce red tape, and improve public service delivery.
