GEORGE TOWN, February 17 – Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow is embarking on an investment promotion mission to Japan from Feb 16 to 22, organized by InvestPenang to engage with Japanese corporations and attract further investments into the state. The mission focuses on renewing ties with existing Japanese investors, encouraging expansion, and promoting Penang’s potential in E&E, semiconductors, equipment, and medical devicesindustries.
The delegation will visit Tokyo, Kyoto, and Kumamoto, with InvestPenang also exhibiting at the Kumamoto Industrial Revitalization Expo on Feb 20-21. Kumamoto, known as “Silicon Island”, is a key hub for Japan’s semiconductor industry. Chow expressed confidence that this mission will reinforce Penang’s position as a resilient and sustainable investment destination while fostering stronger collaborations with Japanese industry leaders.
