KUALA LUMPUR, February 17 – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim reaffirmed the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) as a key pillar in upholding integrity and eradicating corruption. Speaking at the MACC Ceremonial Dinner 2025, Anwar emphasized his administration’s zero-tolerance stance on corruption and assured the commission full authority to act without fear or favour against abuse of power.
Acknowledging that corruption is deeply rooted in Malaysia, Anwar highlighted past efforts to strengthen anti-corruption laws, financial support, and enforcement mechanisms, citing Hong Kong’s transformation as an example. He reiterated his commitment to ensuring a corruption-free government, stating that uncontrolled procurement must end and vowing to sustain reforms for a cleaner, more transparent administration.
