GEORGE TOWN, February 18 — Tan Khong Chong, an aide to DAP chairman Lim Guan Eng, has publicly apologised for heckling Penang DAP chief Steven Sim at a recent appreciation dinner for party veteran Lim Kit Siang. Tan expressed regret over the incident and its repercussions, stating, “I publicly apologise to him and the party.”
The incident, which saw Tan hurling a vulgar insult and accusing Sim of betraying Guan Eng, has sparked calls for disciplinary action. However, Sim downplayed the altercation, calling it “a storm in a teacup” and emphasizing his long-standing familiarity with Tan. He also stated that he did not wish to prolong the issue, signaling his intent to move forward.
