KUALA LUMPUR, February 19 — Türkiye achieved a record-breaking year in tourism, welcoming 62.2 million visitors in 2024, marking a 9.8% year-on-year increase and a 20.3% growth compared to 2019. Surpassing its initial targets, the country also generated $61.1 billion in tourism revenue, an 8.3% increase from the previous year, solidifying 2024 as its most successful year in tourism history.
Türkiye’s key visitor sources remained Europe, the Middle East, and Central Asia, while the Americas, India, and China saw significant growth. Russia, Germany, and the UK continued as the top three markets, while visitor numbers surged by 65.1% from China, 20.7% from India, and 8.1% from the USA. With an average stay of 10.7 days and a spending of $972 per visitor, Türkiye reaffirmed its position among the top five most visited destinations globally, according to UN Tourism.
