GEORGE TOWN, February 20 – An 18-hour scheduled water supply interruption will affect approximately 33,500 consumers in Air Itam, Farlim, and Paya Terubong from 9:00 PM on Friday, Feb 21, to 3:00 PM on Saturday, Feb 22. This service disruption is necessary for the final connection works of a 600mm pipeline diversion project along Thean Teik Highway, in front of Farlim Market, as part of the Tun Dr. Lim Chong Eu Expressway – Air Itam By-pass Road Project.
The Penang Water Supply Corporation (PBAPP) will temporarily shut off five valves at five pump houses to facilitate the safe diversion of a major mild steel pipeline, ensuring long-term water supply stability. PBAPP advises affected consumers to store sufficient water in advance and apologizes for any inconvenience caused.
