BAYAN LEPAS, February 25 – Tech Dome Penang, in collaboration with the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation (MOSTI), the Penang State Government, and key industry partners, officially launched AI Horizon – Shaping the Future with Penang’s Talent at SPICE Convention Centre. The initiative aims to position Penang as a regional hub for AI innovation and smart technology by fostering education, industry collaboration, and public engagement.

Officiating the launch, YB Chang Lih Kang, Minister of MOSTI, emphasized the urgent need for Malaysia to integrate AI into its digital economy and innovation ecosystem. AI Horizon, set for 8–9 August 2025 at SPICE Arena, will feature an AI Industry Pavilion showcasing cutting-edge AI technology, an AI Application Showcase demonstrating real-world AI solutions, the AI GENIUS Competition for students and professionals, and an AI Forum featuring expert discussions.

This initiative builds on Penang’s long-standing role as Malaysia’s high-tech industry hub, ensuring its continued leadership in automation, electronics, and AI-driven solutions. The state government remains committed to expanding STEM education and strengthening public-private collaboration to accelerate AI adoption. In his speech, YBM MOSTI urged industry players to actively participate in AI Horizon and collaborate with Tech Dome Penang in developing permanent AI exhibits.

By highlighting AI applications in healthcare, industrial automation, and smart city planning, the initiative aims to enhance public awareness while positioning Penang as a leading destination for AI-driven innovation. With AI Horizon as a catalyst for change, Malaysia moves beyond planning for the future—it is actively creating it.
