KUALA LUMPUR, February 25 – The High Court in Shah Alam has acquitted Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor of sedition charges related to his remarks about the 16th Yang di-Pertuan Agong. Justice Aslam Zainuddin granted the acquittal after the Attorney-General’s Chambers (AGC) decided not to proceed with the case.

While the prosecution initially sought a discharge not amounting to acquittal (DNAA), the judge ruled for a full acquittal. Sanusi’s lawyer, Awang Armadajaya Awang Mahmud, argued that an acquittal was the appropriate outcome. This ruling fully clears Sanusi of charges under the Sedition Act 1948, following a previous acquittal in December over remarks about the Sultan of Selangor.
