GEORGE TOWN, February 25 — Final preparations for the ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting (ADMM) are underway in Penang, with the display of ASEAN member flags symbolizing regional unity. As the host nation, Malaysia is set to welcome over 150 delegates, reinforcing its leadership role in regional security and defence collaboration.

Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin conducted a walkabout this morning to inspect the venue and ensure smooth proceedings ahead of the high-level discussions. The ADMM, taking place at the Shangri-La’s Rasa Sayang Resort and Spa, will serve as a crucial platform for ASEAN member states to strengthen defence ties and address regional security challenges.

Malaysia’s leadership in hosting the event underscores its commitment to fostering cooperation among ASEAN nations in defence, peacekeeping, and strategic policy discussions.
