KUALA LUMPUR, February 25 – A new report from NTT DATA Inc. highlights a growing AI responsibility crisis, with 81% of business leaders calling for clearer leadership to manage risks and support innovation. The study, based on insights from 2,300 executives across 34 countries, reveals that rapid AI adoption is outpacing governance, security, and ethical oversight—putting investments and public trust at risk.

While 89% of C-suite leaders express concerns about AI security, only 24% of CISOs believe their organizations have a strong framework to balance AI risks with value creation. NTT DATA’s findings stress the urgent need for leadership-driven AI governance strategies, including responsible AI design, systematic risk management, and workforce upskilling.

The report also calls for global collaboration on AI policies to prevent ethical blind spots and regulatory uncertainty, which over 80% of executives say is stalling AI adoption. “Without decisive leadership, AI innovation risks outpacing responsibility,” warned NTT DATA CEO Abhijit Dubey. “By embedding ethical governance into AI’s foundation, businesses can unlock its full potential while ensuring security and trust.”
