GEORGE TOWN, February 27 – The Penang Island City Council (MBPP) will implement service restrictions on individuals and companies with outstanding dues starting April 1, 2025, as part of proactive measures to address payment arrears. Affected services include permit applications, licensing, property rentals, and approvals across multiple municipal departments.

Residents and businesses are urged to check their outstanding balances via the Pearl One Touch Penang app, available from today, or visit designated MBPP counters at KOMTAR, Padang Kota Lama, and Balik Pulau for verification and payment. MBPP encourages prompt settlement of arrears through various payment channels, including online platforms such as PBTpay, JOMPAY, and eBayar Penang, as well as at MBPP smart kiosks.

The council emphasizes that timely payments are essential for sustaining municipal services and city development. For further inquiries, the public can contact MBPP’s arrears unit at 04-2592049 or 04-2592011.
