GEORGE TOWN, February 28 – Penang Hill Corporation (PHC) has announced the redevelopment of Astaka Bukit Bendera, a major initiative aimed at enhancing dining capacity and upgrading facilities to meet international standards. As part of this project, the old Astaka building officially closed on 17 February 2025, with construction set to begin in mid-March 2025.
The redevelopment, expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2027, will provide visitors with a refined dining experience and improved service quality. To ensure business continuity, Penang Hill Food Alley, a temporary food court at Dataran, Penang Hill, opened on 25 February 2025, offering visitors their favorite local delights.
Other dining options, including David Brown’s Restaurant and Tea Terrace, Sky Terrace, Bellevue Hotel, The Habitat Cafe, KOTA Railway Cafe, and Nepenthes Garden, remain available.
