GEORGE TOWN, February 28 – A 43-year-old local medical officer was arrested by the Northeast District Police on February 26, 2025, at approximately 9:30 PM for alleged indecent behavior at his workplace, a hospital in George Town. The case is being investigated under Section 509 of the Penal Code and Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act 1955.
The suspect has been remanded for four days, from February 27 to March 2, 2025, to assist in further investigations. The arrest was confirmed by ACP Abdul Rozak bin Muhammad, Northeast District Police Chief, who assured that the authorities are committed to handling the case in accordance with the law.
