BAYAN LEPAS, March 1 – Benchmark Penang has broken ground on its fifth facility, PT4, at the Batu Kawan Industrial Park, marking a major milestone in its expansion strategy. With an initial investment of USD25 million, the new 215,000-square-foot facility will feature cleanrooms, complex machining, and advanced powder painting capabilities to meet the increasing demand for Wafer Fab Equipment (WFE) manufacturing.
Set for completion by June 2026, PT4 will bring Benchmark’s total manufacturing footprint in Penang to over 720,000 square feet, supporting up to RM4.5 billion in annual revenue. Dato’ Dr Balamurugan Sinnasamy, Group President of Benchmark Precision Technologies, highlighted that the facility will create over 500 new jobs and reinforce Penang’s position as a hub for high-tech manufacturing.
