GEORGE TOWN, March 2 – A fatal motorcycle accident and a separate road collision involving an overturned carwere reported on Penang Bridge this morning. In the first incident, which occurred around 8:30 AM at KM 8, two motorcycles collided and skidded, resulting in the death of a 71-year-old local motorcyclist at the scene, while a foreign rider sustained injuries and was taken to Penang Hospital.
The case is classified under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. Shortly after, at 9:20 AM, a collision between a bus and a car near lamp post No. 157 caused the car to overturn into the opposite lane. The 46-year-old female driver and her 58-year-old male passenger sustained minor injuries, while the 53-year-old bus driver was unharmed. This case is classified under Section 43 of the Road Transport Act 1987.
