PUTRAJAYA, March 2 – The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has launched an investigation into former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob over allegations of corruption and money laundering linked to government fund allocations for publicity during his tenure.

Following new intelligence, MACC has arrested four senior officers from his administration and conducted raids at several locations, uncovering RM170 million in cashacross multiple currencies and 16 kilograms of gold bullion worth nearly RM7 million. Ismail Sabri, who was ordered to declare his assets in December 2024, provided his official declaration on February 10, 2025, and was later questioned by MACC on February 19.

The agency has identified 10 key witnesses for further questioning and has not ruled out summoning Ismail Sabri again. The MACC reaffirmed its commitment to conducting the investigation independently and professionally, ensuring strict adherence to anti-corruption and anti-money laundering laws.
