KUALA LUMPUR, March 3 – Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil officiated the graduation ceremony of the inaugural Digital Leadership Excellence (DLE) Programme, a collaboration between the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) and Huawei Malaysia.

The programme, launched in response to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s call for stronger digital leadership, aims to develop 300 digital leaders by 2026. The first cohort of 50 government, industry, and academic leaders completed the intensive eight-month training, which covered 5G, AI, IoT, cybersecurity, and green technology.

Fahmi praised the initiative for equipping leaders with the skills to drive digital transformation and enhance Malaysia’s global competitiveness. The programme concluded with a study visit to China, where participants engaged with leading tech firms like DJI, BYD, and Huawei’s research campus in Dongguan.

Huawei Malaysia CEO Simon Sun reaffirmed the company’s commitment to fostering a strong digital talent ecosystem, with the next two cohorts set to expand participation to 250 more leaders.
