GEORGE TOWN, March 4 – The Penang Hill Funicular Service will undergo its second bi-annual scheduled maintenance from 16 to 22 June 2025, resuming operations on 23 June 2025. Conducted under the supervision of Swiss manufacturer Garaventa AG.
The maintenance will include the replacement of the Mutiara coach’s bogie and electrical and electronic inspections to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance. During the closure, visitors can access Penang Hill via jeep services (012-454 1255) from the Penang Botanic Gardens or use hiking routes.
