PETALING JAYA, March 4 – Selangor FC and Sabah FC played out a goalless draw in their Super League 2024/2025 encounter at the Majlis Bandaraya Petaling Jaya (MBPJ) Stadium. Despite dominating possession, Selangor failed to capitalize on home advantage, much to the frustration of their fans, who were still celebrating their recent Challenge Cup triumph.
The game saw few clear-cut chances, with both teams struggling to break down each other’s defense. Sabah had the best opportunity to break the deadlock in the 74th minute through a penalty, but Darren Lok’s effort was comfortably saved by Selangor goalkeeper Kalamullah Al-Hafiz Mat Rowi.
The draw keeps Selangor in second place with 43 points, while Sabah remains third with 35 points. Meanwhile, in another fixture, Terengganu FC produced a dominant 5-1 victory over Sri Pahang FC at Temerloh Municipal Council Stadium.
Muhammad Akhyar Rashid opened the scoring in the second minute, followed by strikes from Muhammad Safawi Rashid, Muhammad Safwan Mazlan, Ismaheel Akinade, and Manuel Gelito Ott. Sri Pahang’s lone goal came from Sergio Fabian Aguero in the 39th minute, but they were ultimately outclassed by a clinical Terengganu side.
