BARCELONA, March 5 – Intel has introduced the Intel® Xeon® 6 system-on-chip (SoC) at MWC 2025, marking a breakthrough in AI-powered network modernization. Designed for network and edge applications, the Xeon 6 SoC delivers up to 2.4x more RAN capacity and up to 70% better performance-per-watt compared to previous generations.
The chip’s integrated AI acceleration enhances AI-driven RAN performance by up to 3.2x, allowing operators to scale efficiently while reducing capital expenditures. With eight integrated Ethernet ports supporting up to 200 Gbps throughput, the Xeon 6 SoC streamlines 5G core and RAN virtualization, reinforcing Intel’s leadership in software-defined networking.
The Intel Xeon 6 SoC also introduces the industry’s first integrated media transcode accelerator, delivering up to 14.25x performance-per-watt gains for video transcoding, significantly improving live-streaming experiences while optimizing energy consumption. Its advanced security features enable zero-trust edge-to-cloud connectivity, addressing growing data security concerns.
By reducing server footprints and optimizing total cost of ownership (TCO), Intel’s latest innovation empowers telecom operators, cloud providers, and enterprises to deploy high-performance, AI-driven networks efficiently, setting new standards in connectivity, security, and sustainability.
