PUTRAJAYA, March 8 – The Human Resources Ministry (KESUMA) is set to roll out the Non-Occupational Accident Scheme (SKBBK) this year, providing 24-hour accident insurance coverage for employees beyond working hours. Minister Steven Sim confirmed that legislative amendments are underway following Cabinet approval, marking a significant step toward enhanced social security protection.
SKBBK has been long advocated by trade unions as a vital safety net for workers, ensuring financial support in the event of accidents outside the workplace. Additionally, during a coordination meeting with state executive councillors, discussions covered minimum wage policies, workforce digitalisation, and social security enhancements, reinforcing collaboration between federal and state governments in human resource development.
