SINGAPORE, March 9 – The highly anticipated Gemilang Kampong Gelam (GKG) 2025 is back for its fifth edition, running from 19 February to 25 March 2025. Organized by One Kampong Gelam with support from the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) and Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA), this year’s festival promises an immersive celebration of heritage, community, and sustainability.
Featuring 120 F&B and retail partners, visitors can explore a vibrant Ramadan bazaar, enjoy cultural performances, and experience new activities such as the Kampong Gelam Tour, Mystery Treasure Hunt, Stamp Rally, and hands-on workshops. The Sultan Mosque Light Show also returns, creating a mesmerizing visual experience.
Kicking off the festivities is the inaugural Kampong Charity Run 2025 on 15 February, raising awareness for a drug-free lifestyle in partnership with Drugfree SG. A highlight of GKG 2025 is the annual Mass Iftar on 22 March, where 1,000 attendees, including beneficiaries, will share a communal breaking of fast along Arab Street. Sustainability also takes center stage with solar-powered generators, reusable packaging, and incentives for eco-conscious visitors.
“This event is more than just a celebration—it is a reflection of our shared heritage and commitment to a sustainable future,” said Zaki Ma’arof, Chairman of One Kampong Gelam. With an exciting mix of tradition and modernity, GKG 2025 invites both locals and visitors to partake in 35 days of vibrant festivities.
