KUALA LUMPUR, March 10 – IDB VisionCare Sdn Bhd has officially launched Myopine 0.01% Eye Drops in Malaysia at the Connexion Conference and Event Centre, a milestone in tackling the alarming rise of childhood myopia. With urban centers reporting a 60% prevalence rate, Myopine—the world’s first low-dose atropine eye drop formulation with preservatives—is set to provide better access to treatment for children aged six and above.

The launch event featured insights from leading international experts, including Professor Donald Tan (Duke-NUS Singapore) and Professor Nurliza Khaliddin (UMMC), who emphasized the urgency of early intervention. A new clinical trial, ATOM-MY, set to begin in April 2025, will further explore the efficacy of 0.025% atropine in myopia management.
