KUALA LUMPUR, March 12 — Cisco has unveiled the Cisco N9300 Series Smart Switches, a breakthrough in data center networking that integrates security directly into the infrastructure. This innovation aims to power AI-ready data centers, providing enhanced security and scalability. The Cisco Smart Switches, powered by Cisco Silicon One E100and AMD Pensando DPUs, embed Cisco Hypershield, a first-of-its-kind security solution that merges networking and security into a unified platform.

This approach enables data centers to handle complex AI workloads while maintaining robust security, reducing reliance on separate security appliances. As AI applications grow, the need for simplified, high-performance, and secure network infrastructures has never been greater. Cisco Smart Switches streamline data center security by embedding stateful segmentation, IPSec encryption, DDoS protection, and telemetry into the switching layer, enhancing network agility and efficiency.

Tay Bee Kheng, President of Cisco ASEAN, emphasized that integrating security into the network fabric is critical to meeting AI’s evolving demands. The first Cisco N9300 Smart Switch, featuring 24 100G ports, will be available in spring 2025, followed by a top-of-rack model in summer 2025, equipped with 48 25G ports, two 100G ports, and six 400G ports.
