GEORGE TOWN, March 16 — Penang plans to elevate its Ramadan bazaars into key tourism attractions, particularly those within the Unesco Heritage Zone, as part of efforts to enhance its reputation as a food paradise, Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow announced.
Emphasizing the growing popularity of Ramadan bazaars, he highlighted their potential to attract both local and international tourists by showcasing Penang’s rich culinary and cultural heritage.
The initiative, proposed by Penang Muslim League President Datuk Seri Haja Najmudeen Kader, will include expanded locations, structured organization, and enhanced digital marketing strategies to ensure the bazaars become a signature tourism product for the state.
