GEORGE TOWN, April 6 — Penang Marriott Hotel, Marriott Executive Apartments Penang, and Marriott Residences Penang have officially welcomed Adrian Chua as their new Multi-Property General Manager. Adrian succeeds industry veteran Subash, who retired after a remarkable 50-year career in hospitality. With over three decades of experience across international hotel chains including Intercontinental Hotels Group and Shangri-La, Adrian brings deep industry insight and a proven leadership track record.
Beginning his career in 1996 at Shangri-La Hotel Kuala Lumpur, Adrian’s journey has taken him from managing fine dining at Lafite to spearheading the launch of Asia Pacific’s first Aloft Hotel in Beijing. His leadership has since spanned key positions at The Westin, Sheraton, Le Méridien, and Four Points by Sheraton across China and Malaysia. Most recently, he served as General Manager at Aloft Langkawi Pantai Tengah, where he was celebrated for elevating guest experiences and operational performance.
Adrian’s arrival in Penang is anticipated to bring renewed energy and strategic growth to Marriott’s portfolio in the region. Known for his passion for cycling and love for culinary adventures, Adrian is poised to lead with a dynamic blend of discipline, creativity, and hospitality excellence.
