KOTA BARU, April 8 – Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain has raised concerns over influencers and cosmetic entrepreneurs profiting from untaxed beauty products smuggled from Thailand without approval from the Ministry of Health (MOH) and Royal Malaysian Customs.
These products, brought in illegally due to lower prices, are sold at marked-up rates in Malaysia, impacting tax revenue and posing health risks to consumers. Authorities have intensified border monitoring and enforcement, with the General Operations Force (GOF) carrying out major seizures, including cosmetics and agricultural goods smuggled through illegal routes.
