KUALA LUMPUR, April 9 — Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming will meet Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today to discuss a comprehensive support plan for victims of the Putra Heights gas pipeline fire and explosion. Nga stated that a formal announcement will be made once a suitable formula is agreed upon to aid the 219 affected households, some of which suffered severe damage in the incident.
Addressing criticism over his absence at the scene, Nga emphasized that the priority is delivering tangible solutions rather than responding to political noise. He highlighted that all ministries, including his own, have mobilized necessary aid, with DAP contributing 100% of its raised funds directly to victims. The fire, which erupted last Tuesday, reached temperatures of 1,000°C and took nearly eight hours to extinguish, while 38 victims are still undergoing medical treatment in both public and private facilities.
