KUALA LUMPUR, April 13 — The Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT) has blacklisted 109 property developers for failing to comply with mandatory regulations, Housing Minister Nga Kor Ming announced. The move aims to safeguard homebuyers’ interests and ensure accountability within the property development sector. The blacklisted developers are barred from obtaining new licences until outstanding fines are settled, with offences including failure to submit key financial and project status reports.
Speaking at the 14th Annual Affordable Housing Projects Conference, Nga emphasized the ministry’s zero-tolerance stance on non-compliance, calling on all developers to adhere to regulations for timely project completion and quality assurance. He urged the public to verify developers’ licence status through the KPKT’s official website before committing to any property purchase, reaffirming the government’s commitment to a transparent and fair housing market.
