BACHOK, April 14 – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has reaffirmed the Madani Government’s commitment to inclusive development, dismissing claims of sidelining opposition-led states such as Kelantan and Terengganu. Speaking at the Kelantan-level Aidilfitri Madani 2025 celebration, Anwar revealed that Kelantan received a 30% increase in federal allocation last year — RM762 million compared to RM588 million in 2023 — while Terengganu’s allocation rose by 28% to RM2.02 billion.

Additional funds for poverty eradication amounting to RM25 million and RM60 million were also approved for Kelantan and Terengganu respectively. Highlighting the government’s development agenda, Anwar announced a significant RM3.19 billion allocation for Kelantan in 2025, nearly double the RM1.55 billion in 2022. This includes over RM1 billion for road upgrades like the Central Spine Road, RM500 million for new water infrastructure such as the Machang Water Treatment Plant, and RM100 million for housing programmes.

Around RM50 million will also go towards rubber smallholder initiatives under RISDA. The Prime Minister underscored that these efforts are part of the Madani Government’s promise of balanced progress, regardless of political affiliation. In addressing the state’s persistent flood issues, Anwar stressed the urgency of fast-tracking high-cost flood mitigation projects and proposed innovative water storage methods to tackle both floods and droughts.

He called for closer cooperation between federal and state governments, urging the expedited resolution of land acquisition matters. “This is not a party agenda, but a national one,” he said, thanking Kelantan’s leadership for its collaboration and reaffirming his government’s resolve to improve the lives of all Malaysians.
