KUALA LUMPUR, April 16 — The Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB) and SumiSaujana Group Berhad have signed a landmark Licensing and Commercialisation Agreement to accelerate the global adoption of palm-based polyols and bio-based polyester polyols. The collaboration aims to capitalise on MPOB’s proprietary technology to produce sustainable alternatives to petroleum-based chemicals for use in key sectors such as automotive, construction, and consumer goods.

This partnership aligns with Malaysia’s Public-Private Partnership Master Plan 2030 and strengthens the nation’s push to become a global hub for bio-based technology. By commercialising renewable palm-derived compounds, the initiative not only enhances the palm oil value chain but also supports the global transition toward environmentally responsible manufacturing.
