PUTRAJAYA, April 17 — Chinese President Xi Jinping has pledged to deepen strategic cooperation with Malaysia under Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s leadership, reaffirming China’s commitment to advancing a shared future between the two nations. Speaking during a high-level bilateral meeting in Putrajaya, Xi lauded Malaysia’s national progress and praised the “Malaysia Madani” vision, calling it a model of development beautifully realised.

Highlighting centuries of cultural ties and modern solidarity, Xi underscored the enduring China-Malaysia friendship, shaped through mutual respect and shared adversity—from Admiral Zheng He’s historic visits to recent cooperation during the Covid-19 pandemic. With RM484.12 billion in trade between the two nations in 2024, Xi’s visit marks a renewed chapter in bilateral relations as both sides aim to bring greater prosperity to their people and the region.
