DESARU COAST, APRIL 18 – In celebration of Earth Month, Hard Rock Hotel Desaru Coast is amplifying its dedication to sustainability through innovative practices, community partnerships, and guest engagement. Under its brand-wide “Save the Planet” ethos, the resort has implemented long-term strategies focusing on energy and water conservation, waste minimization, ethical sourcing, and biodiversity awareness.

Highlights include harvesting over 458,000 liters of rainwater in 2024, composting 13,000 kilograms of food waste, and creative upcycling initiatives such as turning old uniforms into backpacks and coffee grounds into eco-friendly crafts. The hotel’s Earth Hour celebration on 22 March brought the community together through immersive, low-impact experiences themed “Switch Off, Step Up.”

Guests explored rainforest-inspired art made from recycled materials, joined interactive biodiversity exhibits with JungleWalla Desaru, and enjoyed a plant-based menu crafted from locally sourced ingredients. Collaborations with regional changemakers—such as Ada Biotech, Precious Plastic Malaysia, and local artists—further underscored the hotel’s commitment to sustainability as a shared journey.

“We’re not just raising awareness; we’re building a culture of action,” said Yana Ali, Sustainability & ESG Manager.
