GEORGE TOWN, April 26 – Perbadanan Bekalan Air Pulau Pinang (PBAPP) has announced that 85% of the works under the April 2025 Scheduled Water Supply Interruption (SWSI) initiative have been completed as of 10.30am today. Of the 23 water infrastructure projects underway, 19 have been completed, with the remaining four expected to conclude by 4.00pm.
The remaining works include key final connections to the 1.35m Sungai Perai River-Crossing Pipeline (SP-RCP) in Ampang Jajar and Kampung Teluk, along with valve replacement and pipeline diversion tasks in Seberang Perai Utara and Daerah Barat Daya. PBAPP CEO Dato’ Ir. Pathmanathan K. confirmed that these critical infrastructure upgrades are proceeding as scheduled.
Upon completion, PBAPP will initiate water supply recovery in phases, starting at 10.00pm tonight with 40% restoration, followed by 88% recovery by tomorrow night. Full restoration to all 341,708 affected consumers is anticipated by 10.00am on Monday, 28 April 2025.
