KOTA BARU, April 27 — Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad has called for a whole-of-government approach to tackle issues related to reproductive health education and sexual literacy, particularly among youth.
Emphasising that the responsibility does not lie solely with the Ministry of Health (MoH), he said the involvement of other key ministries—including the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development, and the Ministry of Youth and Sports—is crucial to deliver a coordinated and comprehensive awareness strategy.
Dr Dzulkefly highlighted the need for stronger national action following alarming reports of rising sexual offences in Kelantan, including cases involving children as young as 10. He said MoH is prepared to mobilise its expertise and collaborate across ministries to ensure the initiative reaches all communities, supported by services like the One Stop Crisis Centre (OSCC), which provides care for underage victims of sexual crimes at hospitals nationwide.
