KUALA LUMPUR, April 30 – Maxis is taking a bold step toward sustainable living by expanding its Home Solarsolution across Peninsular Malaysia. Building on the successful Klang Valley pilot in late 2024, this nationwide rollout allows more homeowners to enjoy clean energy with a low upfront payment of RM1,000 and monthly subscription plans that cover installation, maintenance, and 24/7 customer support.

With savings of up to 25% on electricity bills from day one, Maxis Home Solar offers flexible plans based on system size. A 7.3kWp system, ideal for smaller homes, costs RM310/month, while a larger 17.4kWp setup for high-usage homes is priced at RM720/month. Subscribers also have the option to upgrade with microinverters for improved performance and future scalability, at an additional RM30/month.

The expansion will kick off in May 2025 and extend to non-Maxis users by year-end, underscoring Maxis’ commitment to green technology and converged home services. To date, over 400 Klang Valley homes have adopted the solar subscription, and with Maxis’ strong broadband and device bundling capabilities, the company is well-positioned to scale this solution through its existing base of 10.4 million subscribers.

Patrick Er, Director of Maxis Green Solutions Sdn Bhd, highlighted that beyond affordability, Maxis aims to deliver industry-leading after-sales support. The Home Solar service includes proactive monitoring and diagnostics, with over 500 Maxperts nationwide ready to address any system issues and ensure uninterrupted performance. A 10-year warranty and insurance coverage offer further peace of mind throughout the contract period.

At the end of the 10-year term, customers own the solar system outright and can continue to enjoy energy savings. Maxis also plans to introduce a maintenance package for out-of-contract users. Interested homeowners can register on the Maxis website, after which a Home Solar consultant will tailor a proposal based on their energy needs. Maxis will also handle the Net Energy Metering (NEM) application, enabling users to offset their TNB bills by exporting excess solar energy back to the grid.
