SEREMBAN, May 14 — PKR deputy president Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli has underscored the importance of the party’s upcoming internal elections in preparing for the 16th General Election (GE16), urging newly elected leaders to focus on pressing national concerns, particularly the economy and corruption.
Speaking during the “Hidupkan Idealisme Reformasi Dalam Ujian Kuasa” (HIRUK) tour, Rafizi emphasized that party leadership is a trust that must align with voter expectations and the broader goal of electoral success.
With 10 days to go before polling on May 23, Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun echoed the sentiment, calling for unity and resilience, while PKR vice president Nik Nazmi Nik Mat noted heightened public scrutiny due to PKR’s role in the federal government and the Prime Minister’s leadership.
The deputy presidency will see a direct contest between Rafizi and Nurul Izzah Anwar, with 12 candidates vying for four vice president posts at the National Congress from May 22 to 24 in Johor Bahru.
