BATU KAWAN, May 14 — Sustio Sdn. Bhd., a subsidiary of Korea’s SIMMTECH Group, has officially opened its second manufacturing facility in Batu Kawan, Penang, marking the completion of its RM326 million Phase 2 expansion. This strategic move doubles its HDI (high-density interconnect) PCB and substrate manufacturing capacity, positioning Sustio as a vital contributor to the global semiconductor supply chain.
Since its 2022 establishment, Sustio has invested RM750 million in Penang and created over 1,400 skilled jobs, strengthening Malaysia’s standing as a premier hub for advanced electronics manufacturing. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Penang Chief Minister YAB Tuan Chow Kon Yeow, MIDA Deputy CEO Zalina Zainol, and SIMMTECH CEO Jeffery Chun, alongside dignitaries and industry leaders.
Looking forward, Sustio is preparing for AI-driven growth, with confirmed plans for a third and fourth facility on newly secured land. As Malaysia advances its vision as the “Silicon Valley of the East,” Sustio’s continued investment underscores long-term confidence in local talent, infrastructure, and the nation’s innovation ecosystem.
