PUTRAJAYA, May 15 — The Ministry of Communications has unveiled the Concert and Events in Malaysia Incentive (CEMI), a RM10 million annual financial support programme aimed at revitalising the nation’s live entertainment and tourism sectors.

Open for applications from May 15 to July 10, the initiative targets high-impact concerts and festivals, requiring a minimum of 15,000 attendees and a blend of local and international participation to qualify for rebates of up to RM1.5 million.

Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil announced that the programme, managed by MyCreative Ventures, will offer additional bonuses for events achieving strong ticket sales and significant local involvement.

Designed to boost tourism and Malaysia’s cultural footprint, CEMI seeks to stimulate economic activity by rewarding organisers who meet stringent criteria, including spending thresholds and ticket sales performance, with rebates disbursed only upon project completion and approval of final reports.
