GEORGE TOWN, May 15 — In celebration of Penang Georgetown World Heritage Day 2025, the Miss Penang Kebaya & Mr Penang Batik 2025 competition will be held on June 21 and 22 at Sunshine Central Mall’s Main Atrium. This vibrant cultural showcase, open to participants of all ages and backgrounds from the northern region (Penang, Kedah, Perlis), is set to highlight Malaysia’s rich heritage through traditional fashion, exhibitions, and performances.

Organised by Spark Life Transformation Center and endorsed by the Penang State Government (PETACE) and the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, the event commemorates UNESCO’s recognition of Kebaya as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity (4 December 2024). Categories include Kids, Teens, Miss, Mrs, and Mr (15+), with each contestant eligible for titles, crowns, trophies, and a chance to advance to the national Miss Malaysia/World Kebaya 2025in August and the international finals in November.

Beyond the pageant, attendees can enjoy cultural exhibitions, workshops with fashion and tourism experts, and the appointment of Tourism & Cultural Ambassadors.
