SEOUL, May 15 — Samsung Electronics has announced a major AI usability upgrade for its Galaxy A series, enabling users to activate Google’s AI assistant, Gemini, by pressing and holding the side button. Previously exclusive to the Galaxy S series, this feature will now be available on the Galaxy A56 5G, A36 5G, and A26 5G, aligning with Samsung’s mission to democratize intelligent mobile experiences.
This update enhances daily convenience, allowing users to perform tasks like finding restaurants, scheduling events, or sharing locations using simple voice commands across Samsung, Google, and third-party apps. Rolling out globally in early May, the update is part of Samsung’s Awesome Intelligence initiative and deepens its partnership with Google.
In conjunction with this launch, customers in Malaysia can enjoy rewards worth up to RM429 for purchases made by April 30, including e-vouchers, storage upgrades, extended warranties, and discounts on Galaxy accessories. With AI now just a button away, Samsung continues to blend innovation with accessibility for smarter, more seamless mobile living.
