PETALING JAYA, May 15 — U Mobile has officially divested its 100,000 shares in Digital Nasional Bhd (DNB) for RM100,000, transferring ownership to CelcomDigi, Maxis, YTL Power, and the Minister of Finance Incorporated (MoF Inc).
The move comes as U Mobile sharpens its focus on developing Malaysia’s second 5G network, which it reports has already achieved 80% coverage across populated areas within just one year. Despite the exit, U Mobile assured customers that its 5G services will remain unaffected, as it continues to access DNB’s infrastructure via a wholesale agreement.
The telco emphasised its commitment to delivering enhanced connectivity through its own network rollout, backed by technology partners Huawei and ZTE, under the government’s dual 5G network strategy.
