GEORGE TOWN, May 18 – Trensor Co. Ltd., a global leader in automotive sensor technology, has officially broken ground on its first international manufacturing facility at Penang Technology Park@Bertam. The RM100 million investment will create 200 high-skilled jobs and is expected to generate RM200 million in annual sales when operations commence in 2026.
The four-storey, 10,000-square-metre facility marks a significant milestone in Trensor’s expansion strategy to support the fast-growing Southeast Asian automotive market while strengthening its global supply chain. The ceremony was officiated by YAB Chow Kon Yeow, Chief Minister of Penang, who highlighted the state’s commitment to attracting long-term, sustainable investments.
Also present were MIDA CEO Datuk Sikh Shamsul Ibrahim and Trensor Electronics Sdn Bhd General Manager Zhou Wenbo, who praised Malaysia’s infrastructure, talent pool, and strong institutional support. With customers including Ford, Geely, Cummins, and Perodua, Trensor’s Penang facility is set to be a cornerstone for innovation and regional growth, further cementing Malaysia’s position as a hub for advanced manufacturing.
