GEORGE TOWN, May 19 – YB Wong Hon Wai, Penang State Exco for Tourism Development, Arts, Culture and Heritage, delivered the keynote address at the INTI International College Penang Academic Conference in collaboration with the Association of International Business & Professional Management (AIBPM), Indonesia.
Speaking on the theme “Global Case Studies: Robotics and AI in Action”, YB Wong highlighted transformative innovations shaping societies across Asia, from AI-powered hotel concierges in China to robotic shelf scanners in Singapore. He underscored Penang’s growing adoption of smart technologies, citing the use of facial recognition during the Penang Bridge International Marathon to enhance participant experience.
With examples ranging from robot-assisted marathons in Beijing to the rise of drone-based urban mobility, YB Wong emphasized the urgent need for students and professionals to embrace AI and robotics as tools for sustainable progress and global competitiveness.
