KUALA LUMPUR, May 21 – Microsoft’s 2025 Work Trend Index reveals Malaysia is taking bold strides in AI adoption, with 86% of leaders confident in using intelligent agents to boost workforce capacity. As 83% of workers cite a lack of time or energy, the integration of AI into everyday work is seen as crucial to addressing this productivity crisis.
The report highlights a shift toward agile, outcome-driven “Work Charts,” with over half of Malaysian leaders already automating workstreams—well above the global average. Microsoft Malaysia’s Managing Director, Laurence Si, emphasized the nation’s readiness to lead, noting that Malaysia is transitioning into a Frontier Firm hub—organizations powered by hybrid human-AI teams.
These firms report higher productivity, agility, and employee satisfaction. With 84% of local leaders planning to introduce AI-centric roles and nearly 60% of managers prioritizing AI training, Malaysia is positioning itself as a regional benchmark for intelligent workforce transformation.
