LANGKAWI, May 23 – At the 2025 Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA), Airbus Helicopters reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Malaysia’s evolving defence landscape with its proven multirole helicopters and next-generation uncrewed aerial systems (UAS).

Highlighting the versatility and performance of the H225M, Airbus emphasized the platform’s success in combat, search-and-rescue, and humanitarian operations—especially through its deployment by the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF), which has logged nearly 40,000 flight hours with its 12-unit fleet.

Thomas Zeman, Head of Sales and Marketing for Asia-Pacific at Airbus Helicopters, stated that Malaysia’s changing security demands require flexible, high-performance solutions. “The H225M is a vital force multiplier, capable of all-weather deployment and high-stakes mission execution,” said Zeman. He also noted the RMAF’s recognition with the prestigious Wings of Valour award as evidence of the aircraft’s real-world impact.

Airbus sees opportunities to further expand the H225M fleet to enhance national readiness and response capabilities. In line with future defence trends, Airbus is also advancing uncrewed capabilities through the Flexrotor VTOL UAS, which has recorded over 3,700 flight hours in high-threat environments.

Designed for ISR, search and rescue, and border patrol, the Flexrotor complements Airbus’ ongoing work in crewed-uncrewed teaming (CUC-T) technologies. “Airbus is investing in innovative, mission-ready solutions to ensure that Malaysia’s defence forces remain agile, responsive, and well-prepared for the challenges of tomorrow,” Zeman concluded.
