JOHOR BARU, May 23 — PKR deputy presidential contender Nurul Izzah Anwar has reaffirmed her enduring friendship with rival Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli, declaring that their bond will remain intact regardless of the election results. Speaking at her campaign’s final leg in Johor Baru, Nurul Izzah addressed over 1,000 party members, emphasising that political differences should not undermine unity within the party.
“Saudara Rafizi is my friend. Not only before, but now and forever,” she said, underscoring their shared reformist ideals despite differing approaches. The event, held under the theme “Damai”, saw support from prominent party figures including Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari, Datuk Fahmi Fadzil, and Fadhlina Sidek. Nurul Izzah called for party cohesion post-election, urging members to set aside factionalism and unite for the greater good of PKR.
Acknowledging past setbacks, including her own electoral loss and absence from party contests, she pledged continued commitment to PKR’s cause. “I may choose to remain silent and not say much, but believe me I will fight until the end,” she said, highlighting her readiness to work alongside Rafizi for a stronger and more united party.
