LANGKAWI, May 23 – The Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) marked a significant milestone at the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA) with the celebration of 25,000 operational flying hours logged by its AS555SN Fennec helicopter fleet.
The achievement reflects the Navy’s commitment to operational excellence and safety in aviation, with the fleet playing a vital role in lead-in training and naval support missions since 2004. During the ceremony, Thomas Zeman, Vice President and Head of Sales and Marketing Asia Pacific at Airbus Helicopters, presented an award to Vice Admiral Dato’ Ts Shamsuddin bin Hj Ludin, Deputy Chief of the RMN, commemorating this record-setting milestone. he six Fennec helicopters, known for their versatility and reliability, continue to be instrumental in strengthening the RMN’s maritime aviation capabilities.
