Kaspersky has revealed a 38% year-on-year increase in cyberattacks leveraging trusted family-oriented brands such as LEGO, Disney, and Toca Boca, with nearly 123,000 attempted attacks recorded in Q1 2025 alone. Cybercriminals are increasingly exploiting children’s emotional connection to these brands through phishing sites, malware-laced downloads, and scam pages, including fake giveaways involving YouTube star MrBeast.

The majority of threats come from deceptively benign downloaders, Trojans, and adware, prompting Kaspersky to urge parents to stay vigilant, use cybersecurity tools like Kaspersky Premium and Safe Kids, and educate children about online safety using resources such as the Kaspersky Cybersecurity Alphabet.
